Ha, I feel like I should be whipping out all that old German One stuff: "Hallo, ich heisse Lola, ich komme aus Berlin, ich bin 17 Jahre alt. . . ."
I'll spare you.
What you need to know about Lola is pretty simple, really. First off, she's from Run, Lola, Run. She's almost entirely normal*, she's German, she's got herself some vaguely punk leanings, and she will do just about anything fora klondike bar someone she cares about.
Some other stuff you might be interested in:
Lola is pre-canon. She's never met Manni, the guy she spends just about the entire movie running to save, so she's single. She's coming to Fandom on what she thinks is an exchange program, in order to "broaden her educational horizons" and "improve her English via total immersion", but mostly to escape the fact that her father is dealing with the knowledge that the girl he's raising isn't his biological child (though Lola doesn't know that) and is turning into just the sort of person he hates by throwing himself more and more into his work at the bank (and into extra-marital affairs), and her mother is dealing with the fact that her husband is becoming more and more emotionally distant (and sleeping with other people) by spending most of her time drunk (and getting into her own extra-marital affairs).
So, yeah. Boarding school in another country sounded like a really, really great idea to Lola.
Like I said, Lola is almost entirely normal*, so she's not going to have any prior experience with things like moving islands, talking frogs, transforming robots, or such the like. She is, however, German, and from a film that tends towards magical realism and hints at otherworldly powers interacting with normal mankind, so her head's not quite going to explode. It is possible that she's going to chalk everything up to America being extraordinarily weird, though.
* As I mentioned above, Run, Lola, Run employs a certain level of magical realism (it tells the story of a 20 minute span of time repeated three times over, after all). One of those magical elements is Lola's scream: it can, literally, shatter glass. And maybe possibly not quite so literally alter the course of games of chance in her favor. We'll probably never get the chance to find out in Fandom, but just to put that out there. One things for damned sure, when she does scream, people sit up and take notice. And possibly spill their drinks and have to go to the optometrist.
And a final note, regarding Lola's last name: Lola's name here in Fandom is Lola Rennt. Which might be causing some folks to snicker, as that's actually the German title of the movie, and literally means "Lola runs" (or possibly "Lola ran", since that sure as heck looks like a past imperfect conjugation to me, but then, my German education is 10 years out of date). In canon, Lola is never given a last name, and as she's intended (via my interpretation at least) to be a sort of "everyman"ish character and thus be fairly normal, I felt a last name was appropriate. So I picked that one. It's a helluva lot better than just saying her last name is "Schmidt". . . .
I think that's it. . . . Any questions?
Re: the mun: I'm weird. No, seriously. People tell me all the time that they're afraid of me and/or want to move into my brain.
Those of you who were around here a year ago might remember me, I'm the girl who's played Nadia Santos, Artie the Strongest Man in the World, Lucas, Daisy Adair, Pete Hutter, Steerpike, Maddie and Syvvie, and, however briefly, Warren Cheswick (good Christ, did I get everyone in there? That's a lot of characters. . . .) Alas, around this time last year, due to various RL reasons I won't go into, I had to pull out.
But I'm back now.In pog form.

Ha! And I can't think of many movies of hers I've seen where she's all that smiley. She should be! It's a good smile!

I know! She's usually all in over her head in things. I blame Tom Tykwer. It's clearly all his fault. Or we could just say she's German and full of angst (not to be confused with angst. Er.)
